Medicines pooled procurement has been implemented between the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) with the objective of optimizing expenditure and providing savings to the government through large-scale procurement. The Impact of Medicines Pooled Procurement Towards Medicines Pricing in the Public Sector Study is conducted to assess the impact and saving of medicines pooled procurement in the public sector, in line with the strategy of the Malaysian National Medicines Policy (MNMP). Pooled procurement provides a total savings of RM179 million to the Government. Thus, this activity can be extended to other ministries/agencies in the future.
