Medicine Prices Monitoring Survey in Malaysia 2020

Medicine Prices Monitoring Survey in Malaysia / Kajian Pemantauan Harga Ubat (KPHU) is a commitment of the Pharmaceutical Services Program (PSP) to provide comprehensive information on the availability, price and affordability of medicines in Malaysia. The study conducted since 2006 requires cooperation between Malaysia's public and private healthcare sectors. The selection of facilities and medicines was based on the World Health Organization (WHO) and Health Action International (HAI) guidelines. This study involved three baskets of essential medicines; WHO/HAI Basket, Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Basket, and Single Product Registration Holder (PRH) Basket. Medicine prices monitoring activity is in line with the Malaysian National Medicines Policy (MNMP) objective; to improve health outcomes of Malaysians by promoting rational use of medicines and ensuring quality, safety, effectiveness and affordability of medicines.
