Towards COVID-19 Endemic in Malaysia: The Journey Continues
Following the regulatory approval of the COVID-19 vaccines, the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (Program Imunisasi COVID-19 Kebangsaan - PICK) was launched at the beginning of year 2021. It was a monumental effort in vaccinating the entire country and accelerated the transition towards COVID-19 endemic in Malaysia. Being an indispensable part of the healthcare system, pharmacy personnel continued to work hand in hand with other healthcare professional to make the PICK programme a success. This is a special report published by the Pharmaceutical Services Programme, Ministry of Health (MOH) that aims to document the activities, roles and contributions of MOH pharmacy personnel in the implementation and success of the PICK programme, either at the front lines or behind the scenes. We hope that this report will serve as a record of achievements and challenges during the implementation of the vaccination programme that helps us to identify areas for continuous improvement.
