Medicine Prices Monitoring Survey In Malaysia 2022
The Medicine Prices Monitoring Survey in Malaysia/ Kajian Pemantauan Harga Ubat (KPHU) is an initiative under the Pharmaceutical Services Programme (PSP) to monitor medicine prices in Malaysia. This study was conducted every two (2) years to collect data related to the availability, affordability of medicines, and price-related components such as price mark-up information in Malaysia. The medicine prices monitoring was in line with the objectives of the Malaysian National Medicines Policy (MNMP) to improve the health level of Malaysians by promoting equitable access to essential medicines, rational use of medicines, and ensuring that medicines are of high quality, safe, effective, and affordable. This study was developed based on guidelines by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Health Action International (HAI), which involve three main basket of medicines namely: WHO/HAI Basket, Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Basket, and Single Product Registration Holder (PRH) Basket.
