Total Premises Inspected by State in 2011

A total of 13,613 premises were inspected throughout 2011. Products were seized from 5.14% of total premises inspected due to violation of the law.

Breakdown of Seizure Values (RM) by Raids, Premise Inspections and Entry Point Inspections for 2011

Total overall seizures were from three activities; raids, premise inspections and entry point inspections. The largest seizure valued at RM 27,461,997 (89.7%) resulted from raids.

Number of Hardware Stores Inspected in 2011

As a result of  increased incidences of acid splashing, beginning January 1st, 2011 Type D Poison License (license to store and sell part II poison for retail) is no longer issued.

Cytotoxic Drug Reconstitution (CDR)

CDR Services Policy:

Pharmaceutical Services Division, Ministry of Health has developed the policy for CDR service which is intended to safeguard patients and staff by defining standards of CDR practice from pharmacists perspective. It is worth noting that all the local policies involving prescribing, handling, and administering the cytotoxic drugs must be developed by a multi-professional team and complies with the scope of the service:
