Clinical Pharmacy Service

Clinical pharmacy services offer monitoring services for warded patients by the pharmacists. The services including therapeutic drug monitoring, medication counseling and dispensing medications to discharged patients. Clinical pharmacists are involved in ward round together with other medical team. Clinical pharmacists are responsible for ensuring that patient treatment is at an optimal level, to ensure the patient's condition is stable, provide counseling as well as to promote the proper and effective use of drugs.

Offers 24hours pharmacy services to meet the demands after office hour. They also offer the on-call service.

Non-Sterile Pharmacy

Extemporaneous preparations of medications.

This service is provided to cater the demand of requested syrup medicines that are not available commercially. This is especially to cater the group of patients that could not tolerate orally and children.

Parenteral Nutrition Pharmacy Service

This service provide nutritional support pharmacy service for patients in the wards. Pharmacist are responsible in suggesting, preparing and monitoring parenteral nutrition as well as intravenous admixture products.

Work in team with other healthcare providers to give the best pharmaceutical care to the patients.

National Pharmacy Call Centre (NPCC)

Establishment of the NPCC which operates at Kuala Lumpur Hospital aimed to improve accessibility of drug information with accurate, unbiased and relevant for all health practitioners, patients and public. NPCC can be reached through toll free line 1 800 88 6722.

Prevention and Consumer Awareness Activity

Prevention and Consumer Awareness activity aims to educate consumers about the dangers of using unregistered pharmaceutical products.  Consumers will be exposed to the information regarding registered products,  how to check registration and notification status of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products on the market and how to make wise choices.

The activities include talks, exhibitions, and dialogue to public, agencies, and other organizations.

Classification of New Chemical as Poisons

New chemicals used as active ingredients in the production of medicines should be classified as a poison with the approval of the Poisons Board.

Issuance of Advertisement Approval

All advertisement on medicine and health services offered by private hospitals, private clinics, private radiology clinics and private medical laboratories must obtain prior approval from the Medicine Advertisement Board (MAB) before it can be advertised

Issuance of Pharmacy Enforcement Authority Card / Authority Card for Identity Card Inspection (JPN 1/12)

The Pharmacy Enforcement Authority Card / Authority Card for Identity Card Inspection (JPN 1/12) are issued only to pharmacists working in the Ministry of Health Malaysia to carry out the enforcement duties.
