The Guidelines for Special Approval Medicine (SAM) Applications for Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia Facilities
The Guidelines for Special Approval Medicine (SAM) Applications for Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia Facilities aim to provide guidance to MOH facilities in submitting applications for SAM for patients under their care.
These applications seek access to medicines that are not listed in the Ministry of Health Medicine Formulary (MOHMF), are used outside the indications set by the Drug Control Authority (DCA) and/or MOHMF or are not registered with the DCA.The first edition of the guidelines had been published in 2016.
Updated information regarding the SAM application process has been incorporated to align with the transition of the SAM application procedure in the Pharmacy Information System (PhIS).
